Builders are the natural choice to wield the bulk of the Night’s Watch fire support. Crossbows can be difficult to maintain in the field, requiring specialized training and an experienced eye. Thus, they’re perfect in the Builders’ hands, especially as the role of long-range fire support keeps the Builders off the front lines where casualties can be steep. Care should be taken to protect the Crossbowmen from any direct assault, most especially by cavalry. However, a skilled Commander can position their Crossbowmen to rain deadly fire down upon even the heaviest of infantry completely unopposed.
